Day 0 · Arrival in Negombo
Take a tranquil boat ride through the Negombo Lagoon, navigating calm waters bordered by mangrove swamps and stopping at Monkey Island to spot playful macaque groups and diverse bird species. Afterwards, head ashore to discover colonial history at the historic Dutch Fort and experience the energetic atmosphere of one of the island's largest open-air fish markets before checking into your hotel to unwind for the upcoming tour.
Day 01 · Negombo to Sigiriya
Visit the magnificent Golden Cave Temple of Dambulla to explore ancient Buddhist statues and cave paintings carved directly into the rock faces. Afterwards, proceed to Sigiriya, check into your hotel, and rest in preparation for an early morning climb.
Day 02 · Sigiriya to Trincomalee
Start with an early morning 5:00 AM climb up the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress to catch the sunrise while exploring ancient water gardens, frescoes, and summit palace ruins. Next, embark on an exciting ride through Kaudulla National Park, famous for its large wild Asian elephant herds, before transferring to Trincomalee to check into your beachfront hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 03 · Trincomalee to Pasikuda
Visit the historic cliffside Koneswaram Temple overlooking Swami Rock and the Indian Ocean for sweeping coastal views, followed by a boat tour to Pigeon Island National Park for snorkeling among pristine coral reefs, sea turtles, and colorful marine life. Day 08 · Ella Rest Day
Take a scenic mountain train ride through tea slopes and mountain tunnels, then hike up Little Adam's Peak through green tea estates for panoramic views of the Ella Gap. Day 09 · Ella to Udawalawe
Stop by the famous multi-tiered Ravana Waterfall cascading down steep rock faces before embarking on an afternoon 4x4 Jeep safari through Udawalawe National Park to observe wild elephants in their natural habitat. Day 10 · Udawalawe to Negombo
Explore Ratnapura, the 'City of Gems', to learn about traditional sapphire mining, cutting, and polishing before taking your return transfer to Negombo, where the tour ends.
