Day 0: Arrival in Negombo – The Coastal Basecamp
Your journey begins in Negombo, a vibrant seaside city where Dutch colonial history meets a bustling tropical atmosphere. Known for its labyrinth of canals and the massive Lellama fish market, it’s the perfect place to shake off the jet lag. We’ll take a short warm-up ride to the local fishing village to see the traditional outrigger boats and grab a sunset drink by the shore.

Day 1: Negombo to Kalpitiya – The Northern Frontier
We kick off the engines and head north along the flat, fast coastal roads. You’ll pass the tranquil Weerapokuna paddy fields and the serene Katupotha Wewa reservoir before the scenery shifts to the palm-fringed vistas of Madurankuliya. The day ends on the stunning Beach Road to Kalpitiya, a rugged peninsula famous for its wild dolphin pods and world-class kite-surfing.

Day 2: Kalpitiya to Sigiriya – Into the Ancient Wilds
Today we trade the ocean for the dry-zone jungles of the North Western Province. Riding through Galgamuwa, you’ll get a taste of authentic Sri Lankan life—and maybe some roadside kottu. You’ll arrive in Sigiriya, home to the world-famous "Lion Rock." This massive 5th-century rock fortress rises 200 meters above the jungle floor and is a testament to ancient engineering.
Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy – The Ascent to the Hill Capital
After an optional sunrise climb of the rock, we ride toward Kandy, the sacred soul of Sri Lanka. The route takes us past the mirror-like Kandalama Reservoir and up into the Riverston peaks—a hidden gem of the Knuckles Range. We finish in Kandy, home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and a city rich with colonial charm and spiritual energy.

Day 4: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya – The Tea Country Climb
Leave the city behind as we ascend into the clouds. We’ll tackle the Katusukonda Track, a narrow, technical path through the Hanthana tea estates. The destination is Nuwara Eliya, often called "Little England." At $1,889m$ elevation, this city is famous for its British-style bungalows, manicured gardens, and the world’s finest tea plantations.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya to Ella – The Devil’s Staircase
Prepare for the most legendary road on the island. We descend from the high plains via the Devil’s Staircase, a zigzagging track with jaw-dropping drops and views of the southern plains. We arrive in Ella, a laid-back backpacker hub famous for the Nine Arch Bridge and the majestic Ella Gap.

Day 6: Ella to Udawalawe – The Savannah Run
We drop from the misty hills down to the sun-baked plains of Udawalawe. The landscape transforms from tea bushes to open savannah. Udawalawe is the "Elephant Kingdom," where massive herds roam free. After the ride, we swap the bikes for a 4x4 Jeep for an afternoon safari to see elephants, crocodiles, and wild birds.

Day 7: Udawalawe to Negombo – The City of Gems & Home
The final leg takes us through Ratnapura, the world-renowned "City of Gems." We’ll ride through the lush greenery of the wet zone and the rubber plantations of Awissawella before hitting the smooth highways of Pasyala. We close the loop in Negombo for a final celebratory dinner by the sea.
